A Friend of a Friend of a Friend
In what universe could the uploading of your entire address book to an online social –sharing network without a users consent be labeled helpful?
That’s the load the CEO of Path is trying get to us to believe. I don’t believe that there was malicious intent, just stupidity. He does a good spin on saying the data was transferred via a secure connection, but the important part is your entire address book would reside on their servers.
This is why when an app wants permission to connect to the social network I am using it worries me. BTW, if you want to see which sites you have permissions to go to http://www.mypermissions.org/ , this site will tell you all the apps you gave permissions to over the years and forgot.
Sigh
