A Tale of Two Cities
I downloaded the new update to the MLB.com application for the iPhone.
It has already been one of my favorite applications with its steaming audio of the home or away radio stations.
The update allows for select live streaming video of games for the day. Its only a few games but you can see the direction they are going. Lets hope they stream all the games on the slate in the near coming future. This MLB.com application has been A1 right out of the gate and supplying features on each release, its been a pleasure and they really have their act together.
On the other end of the spectrum, we have the new application by XM Radio. Obviously the management types had their hand in this. A very confusing pricing structure, their top channels are not present (Howard Stern, MLB, NFL play be play and NASCAR) which has garnered them instant negative press.
This application has been in the news for weeks anticipating the release and never a peep from XM radio that these properties where not going to make it into their application. Its just shameful they way they handled this, they deserve the poor financial position they are in, who knows maybe they will get a government bailout.
AT&T has unofficially told everyone that tethering is coming to the iPhone by the end of July for $50 a month, sigh just hack it and get tethering.
On the plus side for AT&T they make the Auto-Authentication for Wi-Fi much easier in McDonalds, Starbucks, etc. give them credit for that.
I am personally waiting for the U.S. to insist on Green Dam.
Sigh
