Paper Calendars..how Quaint
Its the end of the year and we got our requests at work to order desktop paper calendars and I go into my end of year rant.
In this day in age who would need a paper calendar ? There are so many choices to get your calendar from where ever you are electronically, I find it insane to actual need to order a paper calendar sitting on your desk for business. In the hustle and bustle world, who is chained to the desk any more ?
I don’t know if its just the need not to have things change or a 19th century security blanket, there is just no way to convince me that paper calendars for your desk are still needed.
If you don’t have Exchange server running at your work, use the Google calendar. This can be told to go remotely on any device you have, whether its a remote computer, smart phone or the internet.
Its like having someone tell me they don’t need email and they only want paper mail to be delivered to their desk. They only want to see their mail when they are sitting at their desk.
Or how about, no one can contact me unless I am sitting at my desk. I will only acknowledge you if I am sitting at my desk.
You would think these scenarios are crazy. How is these scenarios different than the paper calendar scenario?
Then someone told me, congratulations, I am finally “Going Green”… so I ordered five of the thickest paper calendars for my office that i could find.
