Only an insider will laugh
For those of you who wonder what our MPC unit looks like from the inside out.
I saw this on the workbench in the office next door and I thought it looked pretty cool. It is really four MPC units tied together and talking to each other for easier administrator. They are connected via a high speed serial connection, making only one physical connection to the Internet, keeping those extra open ports off of the Internet.
It’s kind of like in Galaxy Quest when the engineer Kwan transports one of the aliens on board and it was turned inside out.
Since I am posting aways, check this out its called a Drobo. It’s basically a personal RAID unit that is easy to use. It’s awesome. A bit pricey at $445 w/o a drive and there is no FireWire interface, only USB 2.0. The simplicity and fall over capabilities cant be beat in such a small easy to use package.
On the Macintosh side, this thing saved me oodles of time a few weeks back its called SuperDuper ($27.95 USD), its works with Time Machine also, basically its makes a bootable exact copy of your Macintosh Hard Drive, Minus the Windows Boot Camp Parition. To backup your Windows partition use this, WinClone and yes this one is free.
Later.
